Alumni Weekend Opening Session: Shaping the Future of Health and Discovery

Begin Alumni Weekend with a keynote session that speaks directly to UCSF’s ongoing commitment to innovation and impact in health and science. Chancellor Sam Hawgood will open with a comprehensive update on UCSF’s latest achievements, setting the stage for a thought-provoking dialogue on the historic revitalization of the Parnassus Heights campus. Chancellor Hawgood and Suresh Gunasekaran, president and CEO of UCSF Health, also will explore transformative changes underway – a vision that integrates pioneering research, state-of-the-art care, and academic excellence to meet the complex challenges of the present and the future.  
 
This forward-looking dialogue will reflect our shared mission, which advances our work as a community of UCSF alumni. Together, we’ll explore how UCSF’s investments in collaborative research and cutting-edge facilities propel the institution forward and enrich and empower the vital work we undertake in the health sciences.

We welcome you to a special celebration honoring UCSF alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago. The Half-Century Club Luncheon brings together graduates from the Class of 1975 and earlier across all UCSF schools plus the Graduate Division and the UCSF/SFSU Graduate Program in Physical Therapy. This tradition that unites alumni from every UCSF school creates a shared space to reflect on our rich history and culture.

Seating will be arranged by school, allowing classmates to reconnect and celebrate the milestones that define their UCSF journey. This year, as we induct the Class of 1975 into the Half-Century Club, we invite all alumni from the classes of 1974 and earlier to join us in celebrating the enduring impact and legacy of UCSF’s alumni community.
