About me
Dr. Ma is a professor in and chair of the UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, shoulder replacement, and knee ligament reconstruction. For over a decade, Dr. Ma has been recognized with numerous awards. His research focuses on cartilage imaging, with a particular emphasis on early detection of injuries and improvements to outcomes following surgeries and replacements. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University before completing a residency at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
