About me
Dr. Shoichet is a co-vice dean of Graduate Pharmacy Education Programs and a professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at UCSF. Whether seeking to change how components fit together using synthetic molecules or investigating how biological molecules operate together in both health and disease, Dr. Shoichet develops new methods for drug discovery processes involving intensive modeling and close collaboration between theory and experiment. With research areas including computational biology and medicinal chemistry, his lab focuses on discovering chemical reagents to illuminate biological problems through structure-based ligand discovery. Dr. Shoichet earned his PhD in molecular docking from UCSF.
