About me
Carol Dawson-Rose, RN, PhD, FAAN, is dean of the School of Nursing and associate vice chancellor for nursing affairs at UCSF. With a career starting as an HIV home hospice nurse during the AIDS epidemic, her research focuses on People Living with HIV (PLWH), evidence-based interventions, and disparities in HIV care. She holds the James P. and Marjorie A. Livingston Chair in Nursing Excellence and serves on the UCSF AIDS Research Institute executive committee and the Center for AIDS Research’s internal advisory board. Dean Dawson-Rose is dedicated to amplifying the school’s research, guiding educational program changes, and promoting equity and diversity in leadership.
