About me
Dr. Giacomini, a pioneer in the field of pharmacogenomics, is dean of the UCSF School of Pharmacy, a professor in the UCSF Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences, and co-principal investigator of the UCSF-Stanford Center of Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation. Over her long career, she has been an active mentor to pharmacy and graduate students and a champion for women and underrepresented groups in science. Her research on genetic variation in how people metabolize and transport drugs has been highly influential in pharmacology and recognized through numerous awards, including the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s Volwiler Research Achievement Award.
