About me
Dr. Roy is a professor in the UCSF Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences who directs the Biodesign Laboratory. He is also serves as technical director of The Kidney Project and faculty director of the UCSF-UC Berkeley Master of Translational Medicine (MTM) program. Dr. Roy has published over 100 papers and holds multiple patents for device developments. He has received several awards including the KidneyX Redesign Dialysis and Artificial Kidney prizes. Before joining UCSF in 2008, Dr. Roy co-directed the BioMEMS Laboratory at Cleveland Clinic. He earned his PhD in electrical engineering and computer science from Case Western Reserve University.
